About CNA Buddy

CNA Buddy is a free study site for people preparing for the written (knowledge) part of the U.S. Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) competency exam. It offers practice questions across all four exam content domains — Physical Care Skills, Basic Nursing Skills, Psychosocial Care Skills, and the Role of the Nurse Aide — every question with a written explanation tied to the public content outline it teaches.

Why we built it

Most CNA practice sites lock their question banks behind accounts and paywalls, or bury a handful of free questions under ads. We took the opposite approach: the whole bank is free, unlimited, and usable on a phone with no sign-up, because the people studying for a CNA are usually studying between shifts and classes.

How the questions are made

Every question is original practice material, written from the public exam content outlines published in state candidate handbooks and standard nurse aide course material, then reviewed for accuracy. They are teaching questions, not copies of real exam items — see the disclaimer.

What this site is not

CNA Buddy is an independent, unofficial project. It is not affiliated with any state nurse aide registry or department of health, the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN), or any testing company such as Prometric, Credentia, Pearson VUE, or Headmaster. Passing our practice tests does not guarantee passing the official exam — always study your state’s current official candidate handbook.
